7:30 PM to 10:00 PM

Panache is a female ensemble that performs a variety of music from celtic to country, motown to madrigals, arts songs to acapella and a whole lot more! Over the 6 years that Panache has been performing they have developed a style all their own with wonderful harmonies, familiar tunes and a whole lot of movin' and grovin'! Panache has songs by Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, the Wailin' Jennys, Marvin Gaye in their repertoire, as well as some traditional pieces like The Parting Glass, one of their favourites.

Panache sings at retirement residences, for benefits and recently performed as roaming carolers at Woodgrove Mall over the holiday season. Having been fortunate to have guested with a number of choirs over the past few years, Panache has now decided it is time for a concert of their own!

An Evening with Panache will be an event full of fun we are sure you will enjoy!

Panache Singers Bios

Kathleen Darby secretly wishes she was the Panache librarian and feigns indignation each time she is accused of hoarding music by Jane. She does, however, always seem to have an "extra" copy. Kathleen is the "techie" of the group who records practices and performances and then uses those to create content for Facebook and the Web. Kathleen sings alto, mezzo-soprano and can sometimes be heard singing in the bass clef.

Josslyn Meyeres is a true artist who plays a number of instruments and is also a painter. She generally accompanies Panache on the piano in styles too numerous to mention! When Panache performs a cappella pieces, Josslyn sings alto and sometimes mezzo-soprano. Josslyn also brought a beautiful piece to our group called "The One Who Knows" written by Joys Dancer. It is one of our favourite pieces to sing!

Nancy Robinson gets us moving, in more ways than one! Her dance background can be seen at work whenever you see Panache dancing (though Jane's flourish is all her own). Nancy does quite a bit of Panache organizing and usually has all of her music lined up and in order. However, she also has "extra" music once in a while, which she readily surrenders to Jane, as she would never want to be seen as a hoarder, unlike another member of Panache. Nancy has an impressive range and can be heard singing from tenor to soprano.

Heather Valsangar brings a rich soprano voice to Panache and we are all very impressed when she is warmed up and can nail that "A" note! She is also a great organizer, but her real talent can be seen in the choosing of our costumes and jewelry. In fact, some of the jewelry that we wear was made by Heather! She also has the most wonderful hot tub in her back yard which Panache uses to "warm up."
