Sacred Centre Dance presents a workshop weekend, capped off by this Gala show featuring 2014 Star Bellydancer Canada's Iana Komarnytska.
Iana Komarnytska has been practicing North African and Central Asian dance forms since 2005. She was one of the choreographers and lead dancers at Ishtar Dance Company (Ukraine) during 2007-2010, and in 2011/2012 she joined Arabesque Dance Company (Canada). Her training took place in Ukraine, Egypt, Turkey and Canada. Upon completing a Master degree in Finance, in 2011 Iana decided to fully dedicate her life to dance and has enrolled in a dance program at York University as an international BFA student (graduated in 2014). In 2013 she completed The League of Bellydance Masters of Russia training courses.
Iana’s multiple awards include Star Bellydancer Canada 2014, all three Solo trophies and the crown of Star Bellydancer Canada 2014; Spark Dance Competition (Canada, 2012), silver award; Belly Dance Championship Bastet (Ukraine, 2009), two gold and one silver awards (youth category), and other awards.
