The Nanaimo Amateur Radio Association offers an amateur radio training course to the public. The course aims to teach all of the necessary operating regulations and technical knowledge necessary to obtain an Industry Canada issued Amateur Radio Certificate. The course provides accredited examiners. Includes: Training texts, all necessary materials, and Industry Canada certified examination. Are you interested in the many facets of radio communication such as packet, CW or morse code communication, learn about 2, 40, and 80 meter voice communication. As partners in the community NARA is also very active in emergency preparedness for natural disaster and community events such as communications for the internationally renowned Bathtub race. Once you have your license you will be able to help your community by joining CECA (Coastal Emergency Communication Association)
