Albert Head Cadet Band performs with "Concerts in The Park"

During the performance, the cadets will play a variety of lively tunes, including marches, Irish tunes and movie themes.
The Band is made up of 30 air cadets between 13 and 15 years on the six-week intermediate musician course at Albert Head in Metchosin.
Although performing in public is a course requirement, the Band�s playing in the Concert in the Park at Beacon Hill has become an eagerly anticipated tradition.
This concert will be a first for many of the cadets, and may include even impromptu performances, depending on the young teens� confidence levels that day.
The cadet band will be under the direction of Lieut.(Navy) Jos Vanderlinden, a professional musician with 33 years� experience performing with military bands.
The Air Cadet Music Program offers opportunities such as travel, performances at high profile community events, and instruction from professional musicians. All program costs are funded by the Department of National Defence and the Air Cadet League of Canada.
Concerts in the Park is presented by the City of Victoria.
