6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

AVI is hosting an evening of remembrance and celebration in honour of our 30th Year Anniversary. We will be celebrating past and present volunteers, board members, staff and clients, as well as remembering the inspiring work, progress, and loss during the global HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Everyone is welcome. Vibrant speakers, live music, and a robust silent auction will entertain everyone during this celebratory event. Our event is expected to draw over 100 supporters and community partners. Seats are filling fast. Please RSVP at: http://bit.ly/AIDSVancouverIsland

The funds raised by this event (through entrance donations and the silent auction) will be dedicated to ensuring the reinstatement of funding for the Positive Wellness Program for Victoria and mid-island. Nutrition is a critical factor in our clients’ health and wellness, and the program serves over 250 meals each week.

AVI needs support in order to contribute to the well-being of the people who need it most. AIDS Vancouver Island was founded in 1986, at the beginning of the AIDS crisis, to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS and to provide compassionate, proactive services for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

Over the past 30 years, the need for HIV/AIDS related programs and social services has continued to grow, and we now provide services out of five offices on Vancouver Island. We are currently operating education, prevention and support services in Victoria, Nanaimo, Courtenay/Comox, and Campbell River. Our vision is of a world free of HIV and hepatitis C.

Until that time, those most at risk in our community continue to be marginalized - not only by their disease, but also by stigma and discrimination, poverty, and despair. As we fight these diseases, we join with those we serve to provide services based on consideration and respect and to provide visibility and a voice in the community.
