Todd Oishi will show you the techniques and fly patterns that he learned during his competitions in Europe and the U.K.
-His knowledge of how fish see (ultraviolate light) and how to incorporate that into fly patterns is shared.
-Other techniques such as loch style fishing is demonstrated.
-His course goes beyond the normal fly fishing course - Phil Rowley and Brian Chan attended and were impressed with the new knowledge that they gained.
-This is an advanced strategies course - not exclusively for advanced fly fishers.

Tamagawa University Campus (where the Divas on the Fly was conducted) is available to us free for March 5 and 6th. Two coffee breaks and lunch is available for $14.50 for each person on each day.

Advanced Stillwater Strategies Itinerary

This two-day fly fishing course is packed full of invaluable information that will improve your overall fly fishing skills and knowledge of stillwater fishing. You�ll learn a series of highly-effective, floating and sinking-line techniques that will significantly improve your ability to hook and land greater numbers of trout. You will also learn about the importance of colour and lighting, as well as how they effect fly pattern selection. Your time spent in the classroom will allow you to approach your favourite stillwaters with a whole new perspective and a greater level of confidence.

Todd is a stillwater angling specialist and writer and is active in the world of competitive fly-fishing. His teams have won the Trojan Pond Fly Fishing Tournament on four occasions and consistently finish within the top three positions. At the Canadian National Fly Fishing Championships he won the individual gold medal in 2005, the individual bronze medal in 2009 and 2010, as well as four team gold medals over the past six years. He has served as a member of the Canadian National Fly Fishing Team a total of nine times, and competed at the North American, European, Commonwealth, and World Fly Fishing Championships. Through his course, he reveals some of the strategies and techniques that have helped to make him one of Canada�s highest ranked, competitive fly fishermen.

About Todd Oishi
Todd Oishi has had numerous photographs and articles published online, as well as in BC Outdoors, Outdoor Canada and The Canadian Fly Fisher magazines. He is very active in the world of competitive fly-fishing. His teams have won the Trojan Pond Fly Fishing Tournament on four occasions and consistently finish within the top three positions. At the Canadian National Fly Fishing Championships he won the individual gold medal in 2005, the individual bronze medal in 2009 and 2010, as well as four, team gold medals over the past six years. He has served as a member of the Canadian National Fly Fishing Team a total of nine times and competed at the North American, European, Commonwealth and World Fly Fishing Championships.

Todd has fished for trout, salmon, char, grayling and several other species of fish in twelve countries and six Canadian provinces. He has traveled quite extensively to the United Kingdom and Europe, in order to study the fly fishing techniques that are used by their finest stillwater and river anglers. He has designed a series of fly fishing courses based on the coaching that he has received during his travels and from his personal observations and experiences while fly fishing abroad and in British Columbia.
