ABSTRACTS is a show of original collaborative paintings by Parsons & Collins. They first worked together in 2018 on a painting for the “Collaborations” show at Coast Collective. The original concept was for Parsons to create a base painting in acrylic and then have Collins transform it with encaustic wax layers to enhance the texture and colour. They enjoyed working together so much they decided to extend the experiment into this first duo show. Together they push the boundaries of both of their skills and mediums to arrive at a new body of work which blends both their styles in interesting new ways.
