Abstract Painting: Mapping the Landscape
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Both rural and urban landscape forms will be explored and maps will be used as a basis for abstract image making. Maps will be considered as a way to understand how we move through space. The day will consist of two projects layering ideas of map and form. Images of other artists' work will fuel your idea development and understanding of aspects of painting such as perspective, colour, composition, contrast and scale. Feel free to bring ideas and/or images of landscapes or maps that intrigue you.
You could choose to focus on a landscape that has special meaning to you and think about ideas of mapping such as literal maps, remembered or historical routes or future imagined routes.
Landscape images and maps will also be available for your use. Some painting experience recommended.
