I use a step by step process where I explain what I am doing while you watch, then I watch you follow that step answering questions as necessary. Because it is an “I do, you do” process we have had great success in this demanding medium.

The first two weeks are all exercises which gets you putting brush to paper, without the anxiety of producing a piece of art. There will be some color mixing and composition involved as well. Since I have hand out’s almost every week, you end up with a “text book of instruction” to refer to in future. A supply list is available here, but please keep the receipts & don’t open anything until the first night. I find that often student have some difficulty making the best choices. I will have brushes available for sale the first week if you prefer not to have to shop for yourself. I also will provide paints the first 2 weeks as you gather together what you will need for your own use. In week one we will be going over your supplies you bring.
