Vancouver Island has long had a vibrant scene when it comes to �roots music,� those performers and singer-songwriters whose passions range from folk to alt-country. And who better than Daniel Lapp to organize a �Roots Celebration�?
From the B.C. Fiddle Orchestra to his work with choirs and various bands, Lapp has been a core member of Vancouver Island acoustic-music community for 25 years. �This is such a fun thing for me, to be able to pick up the phone and call my friends . . . and offer them work,� chuckles Lapp. He plans to have at least a dozen musicians on stage, more or less all the time. �These aren�t cameos, this is everyone part of the same experience,� he explains. Daniel Lapp will be trading licks � and memories � with such notables as Mae Moore, Adam Dobres, Ivonne Hernandez, Carolyn Mark, Ollie Swain, Doug Cox and much more. �These are all great musical collaborators and they�re going to put on a fantastic show,� adds Lapp.
