A Songwriting Workshop with Shari Ulrich

You know her name from Pied Pumkin, UHF, the High Bar Gang and a career spanning 19 albums, but did you know Shari Ulrich has been teaching songwriting for over 20 years? Its a side of her that many of her fans may not know, and one thats been an important part of her life for many years.
"Helping writers to improve their craft is tremendously rewarding. Ulrich says. I am ever in awe of the power of music and song, and exploring it with others always teaches me so much - not just about the mechanics and the art form but about the ever fascinating inner world of humans."
Ulrich brings that skill and experience to The Haven on Saturday August 13th for a one day songwriting workshop and concert. After all it wouldnt be a Shari Ulrich visit if she didnt perform. Joining her onstage for the concert are her long-time partner Bill Runge, and her daughter Julia Graff.
Its not often you get the chance to sit down with someone of Ulrichs calibre, but its starting to become a regular thing at The Haven. In addition to Ulrich, theyve hosted several programs with world class musicians such as Eric Bibb, and Victor Wooten. Ulrich has performed at The Haven before but this will be the first time that attendees will be able to sit and learn from one of our most beloved singer-songwriters. For information call The Haven at 1-877-247-9238 ext.1 or visit The Havens website www.haven.ca/news to register.
