The Sidney Concert Band presents “A Remembrance Day Concert” honouring Canadian Forces in Afghanistan on Sunday, November 5 at 2pm at the Charlie White Theatre in the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney, BC. Under the direction of Bruce Ham, this 40 member ensemble has been making this tribute for over a decade.
Joining the band for this afternoon of wonderful music, will be special musical guests… The Peninsula Singers Ensemble, the Bon Accord Dancers, Dr. Ken Wilson (bagpipes), the 676 Air Cadet Colour Guard, Wayne Speller (trumpet) and Jim Kingham (alto sax). And bringing their personal remembrances to the audience will be Afghanistan vets, Capt. Jean-Guy Mayer and Sgt. Jayson Kapitaniuk.
