2016 Christmas Benefit Concert Series: A MAGICAL CHRISTMAS
Prepare to be enchanted by the Singers’ 2016 “A Magical Christmas,” a show conjured up by Artistic Director Glenda Korella, featuring traditional carols done up in new arrangements and many new songs on our repertoire, including the joyful, multi-part arrangement of “Ring Those Christmas Bells” and the rockin’ “All I Want For Christmas,” made famous by Mariah Carey.
The Women of the Peninsula Singers will vamp to “Santa Baby” and the Men will have a go at “Sixteen Tons (Of Snow)”. Soloists drawn from the Singers’ talented ranks will take their place on stage and a special appearance by our own, enchanting “Peninsula Singers’ Fairy” in the form of Sarah Mullen, Vice President and dancer with the University of Victoria Dance Company will add to the magic.
Jasmine Yu, nine-year-old violinist from the Victoria Conservatory of Music will be our “Spotlight on a Young Artist.”
