A Choral Banquet: twelve years of musical fare

Our ‘choral banquet’ menu is rich and varied including music drawn from many periods of history and all parts of the world. There will be familiar songs you know well and new ones that will capture your interest with their beautiful harmonies and captivating rhythms.  Disney meets Norway in a choral suite from the animated musical fantasy, Frozen.  We will get your toes tapping with music from Africa and visit music from India with its exotic melodies and choral textures . Mood Indigo will take us on a trip down memory lane. Dream a Little Dream of Me will have you grooving with the A Cappella Plus version of the Mamas and Papas!  Pete Seeger’s beautiful Turn, Turn, Turn reminds us that ‘to everything there is a season’ and Blackbird, a Beatles classic, will make you want to hum (or whistle) along.  There are madrigals and motets ... and an adaptation of The William Tell Overture that may not be exactly what Rossini had in mind when he wrote it!  There is some amazing Canadian and Celtic music on the program and we will invite you to ‘get down’ with Sir Duke, one of Stevie Wonder’s most renowned works. We are having a wonderful time preparing this program and we would love to see you at our concert.

Snacks are included in the ticket price and there are refreshments for sale.
