add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Local artists/makers are offering a wonderful opportunity for children of all ages to make their own Christmas presents, gift bags and cards. There will also be storytelling, carols and goodies. Supplies and expertise is free! The event is a collaboration between the Nanaimo Arts Council, the Mid Island Metis Nation, AEIOU, Nanaimo Recycling Exchange, Swap-o-Rama-Rama and the Vancouver Island Regional Library.
Children can choose from activities such as making and decorating sock puppets, Hudson Bay blanket gift bags, bookmarks, paper gift bags, t-shirt bags, braided headbands, jointed figures and cards and whatever their imaginations come up with.
You are welcome to bring things such as used Christmas cards, fabric, tags, wrapping, ribbons, bows etc. as well as any sewing, arts or craft supplies that you can spare. Old t-shirts are also welcome, as are large socks. If you would like to contribute to the event in advance, items can be dropped off at the Nanaimo Arts Council Gallery in Nanaimo North Town Centre by 4:00 Friday, November 28.
