7th Annual Tofino Saltwater Classic Fishing Derby

Brendan Morrison, formerly of the National Hockey League, today announced that the 7th Annual Tofino Saltwater Classic fundraiser fishing derby will be held from July 1-3, 2016 in Tofino on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The largest fundraiser in Tofino, the derby has raised more than $250,000 for community initiatives since its inception. 125 anglers from across North America will compete for approximately $13,000 in cash prizes to be awarded in several categories.
All proceeds from the Tofino Saltwater Classic support a variety of beneficiaries including Wickaninnish School Parent Advisory Council's Healthy Lunch and Literacy Programs, the Tofino Salmon Enhancement Society, Tofino General Hospital Foundation, Tofino Parks and Recreation Commission, and the Tofino Legion Youth Night Program.
In addition to participant registration fees, the Tofino Saltwater Classic raises funds via business sponsorships, the event's silent auction, and private donations.
