7 Steps to a Successful Painting
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Brian Simons is a self-taught artist who has been painting for 30 years and has derived much of his inspiration from the Group of Seven and the French Impressionists. He has been showing his work since 1988 and is represented by numerous galleries including Kamp Galleries, Chicago, Van Dop Gallery, New Westminster, and Southshore Gallery, Sooke. His work is held in corporate as well as private collections.
Brian has been presenting his 7 step workshop for 12 years to hundreds of people in various locations. The primary focus of the workshop is to help the painter get out of the way and allow the painting to happen. He maintains he can help the artist get beyond the barriers and blocks that hold you back from your desire to paint. Participants are asked to faithfully do the course step by step. No preliminary sketches, drawing or measuring are required. The process is applicable to beginners and experienced painters. Experienced artists are asked to suspend all they know and have learned and just do the course without editing, questioning or culling.
