57th Annual Frank Ney Memorial Polar Bear Swim

Royal LePage Nanaimo Realty is the proud main sponsor for Nanaimo's annual polar bear swim. Started by Nanaimo Realty's late founder and former Mayor of Nanaimo, Frank Ney. The company will hold the 57th annual Polar Bear Swim this year. As it has been a long Nanaimo Tradition, Royal LePage Nanaimo Realty continues to put on this FREE Community event every year for the people of Nanaimo, and in memory of the companies late founder. The event takes place every year on December 26th at Departure Bay Beach. Participants are encouraged to come in costume.

We will have a bonfire on the beach as well as a fire inside the Kin Hut to keep everyone warm and toasty. The brave souls jump into the freezing ocean on the shot of the flare. We have entries of all ages ranging from 3 1/2 to our eldest participant of 97! We will be accepting donations on location in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. We will have hot food and drinks available on a donation basis.

As Frank would say, Nanaimo is the jewel of the west. Eight bells and all's well in Davey Jone's locker... We hope to see you there... Registration opens at 11:30 and the swim will take place at 1:00PM
