The 4th Pacific Paddling Symposium is scheduled for May 27-29, 2016. We call it ‘kayak kamp’ for adults where instructors and participants have the chance to learn, connect and play! It will bring together the sea kayaking community for an inspiring three-day experience focusing on skills, education, leadership, heritage, safety, and camaraderie.
The Symposium will be hosted at the beautiful seaside village campus of the Lester B. Pearson United World College, set on the wooded shores of the Pacific Ocean. The location provides easy access to diverse paddling environments, from the protected waters of Pedder Bay to the challenging tidal currents of Race Passage.
The Symposium is suitable for experienced kayakers who have already gone though basic strokes and rescues training. A Paddle Canada Level Introduction to Kayaking Skills or equivalent experience is desirable. The variety of locations and sessions will provide all paddlers an opportunity to challenge themselves and have some fun.
Pearson College is located on the west coast of Canada at the southern-most tip of Vancouver Island, 29 km west of the city of Victoria.
Registration opens January 9, 2016. For more information and to register, go to http://www.pacificpaddlingsymposium.ca/Registration
