1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Sufferin’  Zucchinis!  On Sunday, October 2nd, from 1 to 5pm, it is truly Fall Fair time down at the Big Yellow Merville Hall.

Celebrating this Land of Plenty in the Comox Valley, there will be a Farmers’ Market, food stalls, a Kids’ Zone and petting zoo, licensed refreshments, antique machinery, wineries, displays and lots of arts and crafts.  The amazing and exciting Tug ‘o’ War, between Bonnie Black Creekers and Mighty Mervillites, will happen beside the outdoor vendors at 2pm and 3pm, with the final pull at 4pm.  This will determine which community wins the coveted Golden Gumboot Trophy and the bragging rights to the title of Best Gumboot Community of the Year.  Merville “owned” the honour last year.  Will Black Creek be able to step up to the plate to win the fame and glory this time around?  All able bodied citizens of the Comox Valley are invited to participate!

At the Fair, you’ll be able to tour the 101 year old Stolen Church which was recently dragged to the site and is now slated for massive, angelic renovations.  You can venture inside the historic manse and tour the rooms of the big hall.  To keep your spirits high, there will be toe twitching, live music on site all day. And don’t forget the old fashioned contests such as sack races, three-legged races and egg-on-a-spoon races.

There will be oodles of parking on the fair grounds and plenty of seating for those who just want to sit and relax.
