The legacy of this music and its essence from legendary artists like James Brown, Fela Kuti, Stevie Wonder, and Parliament/Funkadelic will never die and for good reason. The grooves and good vibes produced by Garden City Grooves' bands and DJs are indeed a continuation of the legacy of these artists. Each band has its own brand of musical beauty with one uniting factor – the groove: music that truly makes you move. Whether it’s the Vancouver Afrobeat collective, Kara-Kata Afrobeat; soul legend Dutch Robinson; or local Victoria funk juggernaut, The New Groovement, there is something for everyone to get down to.
