2019 Town of Lake Cowichan 75th Anniversary Fishing Derby

The Town of Lake Cowichan is getting ready to drop their fishing lines in celebration of their upcoming 75th Anniversary Celebration weekend happening August 16th - 18th This May, freshwater anglers are invited to register to take part in the derby happening the weekend of May 18th and 19th with anglers taking to either Cowichan Lake or Bear Lake.
"We are thrilled to be able to host this fun fishing event with a grand prize of $1000 for the largest Cutthroat or Rainbow Trout caught, not exceeding 50cm" comments Chair of the Town of Lake Cowichan's 75th Anniversary Society Paul Jordan " Second place prize is $500 and third place is $250. We wanted this to be a family event so we have also included prizes in the kids category as well".
"We are happy to have great partners on board like Cowichan Lake Marina who is offering complimentary boat launch on presentation of your registration, and the Riverside Inn that will be hosting the Awards & Banquet on the Sunday evening, which is also included in your registration along with door prize draws." adds Grant Treger, coordinator of the derby..
Registration tickets are limited to around 200 and all local fishing regulations apply. Proceeds from the derby are in support of the Cowichan Lake Salmonoid Enhancement Society and Hatchery.
