2017: We’re Still Here: Keeping Hope Alive for the Future


Attend Black History Month in Nanaimo!

Opening ceremonies will be held February 2nd at Nanaimo North Library, 5:00 – 7:00pm, with a mayoral proclamation for 2017. Refreshments will be served. This event is open to the public.


There will be a children’s reception from 11:00-1:00pm, with a reading from A.A Riley, author of Sophia Firecracker. Schools are invited to make this an educational field trip.


Other events include:


Gospel Concert, February 12th, at Brechin United Church and;
Finale Gala and Dinner, February 25th, at Bowen Auditorium.
