Daniel Lapp’s Joy of Life Festival is a glorious escape for your musical senses. Three Uncorkincredible concerts each with their own unique flavour will have you and Mom smiling ear to ear all Mother’s Day Weekend. All concerts take place in the beautiful Alix Goolden Performance Hall – 907 Pandora Ave.

FRIDAY – May 8th – 7:30pm
The JOY OF FIDDLE will be a celebration of folk fiddle music from around the world performed by some of North America’s finest exponents of the instrument. Expect your toes to be tapping as we travel the country, the continent and beyond with Irish Jigs, Down East Polkas, Appalachian hoe-downs and European gypsy dances. As well as our special guests, we will also feature almost 50 young folk musicians in the BC Fiddle Orchestras as well as the always popular, 40 member adult, Folkestra.
 
SATURDAY – May 9th – 7:30pm
 
The JOY OF SONG will be an uplifting evening of singing with our special guests, The Sweet Lowdown. Also featured at this concert will be our 85 voice Joy of Life Choir singing a wide assortment of songs from various genres and eras accompanied by a house band of local legends. This evening will celebrate our world, our environment and the glorious and abundant nature that surrounds us.
 
SUNDAY – May 10th (3pm Matinee)
 
The JOY OF JAZZ will feature a cast of local and internationally recognized artists lead by special guest, the inimitable, Louise Rose. The afternoon will be filled with some familiar swing classics sung by Louise and also some more adventurous jazz standards from the 1950′s, 60′s and up to more modern times. Jazz continues to be a thriving artform on the west coast and as is the nature of this music, one should “expect the unexpected” when a group of improvising masters take the stage!
