2014 Sproat Lake Ladies Regatta

On Sunday, the West Coast Dragon Boat Society will again play host to the Sproat Lake Ladies Regatta. The host teams are the Die-Hard Dragons and the Ladies of the Lake. This year, we have an overwhelming 15 teams in the Ladies Regatta coming from all over the island. The event is being held at the Sproat Lake Provincial Park Boat Launch, when the teams are brought onto the race site by bagpipes.

This event is a great spectator sport. Grab the kids and lawn chairs and come on out for the day. Each year a theme is chosen; the teams dress up and decorate their tents according to the theme. This year�s theme is Pajama Party�.so you can really just roll out of bed and come on out as-is, in keeping with the pajama theme. Coffee and food will be available for purchase on race day and there are well-maintained washrooms on-site.

The West Coast Dragon Boat Society is a non-profit organization that could not make such an event happen without the help of endless volunteers.
