Pianist Minsoo Sohn, Prize Laureate of the 2006 Honens International Piano Competition: A solo recital of variations- Brahms' Handel Variations, Webern's variations for Piano, op. 27 and J.S. Bach's masterpiece, the Goldberg Variations. South Korean Sohn garnered critical accolades for his recent Carnegie Hall performance of this program. The New York Times described his reading of the Goldberg as "exuberant, tender, desolate and whimsical, moods that Mr. Sohn illuminated here with a thoughtfully conceived and poetic interpretation."
