2010 Western Garden Club Annual Plant Sale in Colwood

This Annual Plant Sale raises funds for the Western Garden Club, composed of members from Langford, Colwood and Metchosin and other neighboring communities.

Location: 3321 Metchosin Road

Many of our members learned about our club through this annual sale, and we look forward to expanding our circle each year, through meeting the many people who come to our sales. While many already know of our event, those who have not made it out to see us in past, hopefully can come this year, and see what brings back others year after year, to pick up what they need for their gardens, and get growing advice from the experts among our members, who include Master Gardeners, and long-standing members of the farming community.

If you cannot make our plant sale, we also invite people to our monthly meetings, held at Colwood's Emery Family Hall located behind the St. John the Baptist Heritage Church on Glen Cairn Lane in Colwood. Meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of each month, September through June each year. Doors open at 7:15 pm and the meeting starts at 7:30 pm. Members bring plants for sale at nominal prices before the meeting, plenty of raffle prizes, and a feature speaker at each meeting, followed by refreshments provided by members in the informal social time after the talks. Check the Goldstream Gazette community events or Helen Chestnut's Garden column for our monthly speaker information. We also go on special tours, and enjoy other events during the year. Membership is just $10 per year, and everyone is welcome! Come to our plant sale, and we will provide you with the details in our handout!

See you this Saturday, May 1st, at the site of this year's sale, 3321 Metchosin Rd, by Sangster School, just before Lagoon Road.

TO JOIN US AT OUR MONTHLY MEETING, THESE ARE DRIVING DIRECTIONS COMING FROM VICTORIA:
� Take Old Island Highway/Sooke Road exit off main highway
� When you see the Royal Roads University traffic light , you drive through, and know you will be turning at the NEXT traffic light.
� Off Sooke Road at the Shell Station light, turning right onto Mt.View Avenue
� Then turn right onto Yeta Terrace and
� Then left onto Glen Cairn Lane (not clearly marked, but go as far as you can on Yeta Terrace, and then turn left when you have to go either left or right.)
� Note the historical graveyard site on the right after going through the gates
� Keep on the road on the left
� Park in the parking lot with Emery Family Hall at the end of that lot.
