British Columbia Boys Choir: The British Columbia Boys Choir is a four-part secular boys choir, one of the few in North America. Over its 45 year history the Choir has trained over 800 members who have represented Canada on 30 international tours, performing a demanding repertoire spanning centuries. Members reside in the Greater Vancouver region and range in age from 7-24.

Beat Of The Street Society: We partner with other nonprofit groups to bring the community to the street and the street to the community. We advocate for buskers and we promote busking as a part of Arts and Culture in the community.Contact: [email protected]

Camerata Singers: Camerata Singers is a fun and energetic community choir for men and women. Camerata sings a wide variety of music, including classical, folk, spiritual and pop. Camerata welcomes all who love to sing and want to learn more about music. Singers are auditioned by Marian Smith, and practices are held at St. Andrew’s United Church in Nanaimo on Wednesdays from 7-9pm, with a break during the summer months. Contact: [email protected]

Island Bel Canto Singers: Together since 1997, Island Bel Canto Singers is one of Nanaimo’s most respected women’s community choirs. Our choral repertoire is diverse, from early classics to contemporary music, world music and musical theatre, all in a variety of languages. We sing both accompanied and a cappella, and mainly in three-part harmony.

Island Consort Chamber Choir : 

The Island Consort Chamber Choir is a 20-voice auditioned community chamber choir. Our repertoire is varied and loosely “classical”, focusing on sacred and secular music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. We perform mostly a cappella pieces, but past concerts have included accompaniment by organ, guitar, harpsichord and members of the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra. The choir produces two programs per year.

Nanaimo Ukulele Circle: Free monthly community event for those who love to play the ukulele.  Very Fun!  Opportunities to "jam", showcase, learn, and support others who share a passion for making music on the ukulele.

Noteworthy Kids Music Fan Club: Open to kids ages 8–12 who love music! Kids get to meet Pierre, the VI Symphony’s Conductor, and six Symphony musicians who share their talent by demonstrating their instruments at 7 Music events.
