<h2><strong>Using Social Media to Promote Your Career</strong></h2>=0D=0A=
<p>Marie Bilodeau is a storyteller and the author of seven published novels and many short stories. Taking a page from Charles Dickens&rsquo; playbook, her most recent book, <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Nigh</strong></span>, is being published serially in an electronic format and is available on <em>Amazon.ca</em> and <em>Kobo.com. </em></p>=0D=0A=
<p>Marie is a twice-nominated finalist for the Aurora Award and won the science fiction medal from the Foreword Book Awards.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>In 2014, she left her &ldquo;day job&rdquo; and was able to concentrate on her writing full-time. She attributes part of her achievement not only to her writing, but also to the successful use of social media in her marketing campaigns.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Although published by traditional publishers in her field of science fiction and fantasy, in today&rsquo;s economy, it is up to the author to assist in every way possible to promote and sell the books. The use of the current social media tools is essential to success.</p>=0D=0A=

<p>Every writer knows that a good story needs to have a dilemma, a predicament, a goal, a crisis or conflict. But you can&rsquo;t just go from the opening lines to the critical event.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>You have to build toward it. The tension has to slowly increase and draw the reader in. The reader has to care.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Marie is an absolute master at building tension. Let her show you how she does it.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>She is not only a great writer, but also an excellent oral storyteller, and she has brought these same skills to her storytelling performances.</p>=0D=0A=
