May 1st - International Workers Day and May Day - are celebrated in Cumberland with an old fashioned community supper featuring a tasty plate of working class food; biscuits, baked beans and slaw! Share a meal with friends and enjoy live music, drinks, stories, photos, and more.
=0D=0A=This year’s event features John Gogo. The Victoria Times Colonist has called John “one of the most talented singer/songwriters this area has ever produced”.
=0D=0A=Doors open at 6pm. Cultural Centre. Tickets available at www.cumberlandmusem.ca or at the museum. Bring your banners, costumes, picket and protests signs and join in the Cumberland May Day parade: a joyous, radical celebration of all working people and those who struggle for a better world.
=0D=0A=Gather at the village square at 5:30pm. The parade will move west along Dunsmuir to the parking lot behind the Museum. From there, you’ll have a chance to get your seats for the annual Bean Supper.
