The Comox Valley C.G. Jung Society presents a most important lecture: Why Good People Do Bad Things: Understanding the Role of the Shadow in our Daily Behaviour. This talk will be presented by John Betts, a Zurich trained Jungian Psychoanalyst who lives and works in Victoria, B.C. John is a dynamic speaker and the lecture is sure to be most fascinating and thought provoking.
=0D=0A=

Most of our human conflicts stem from Shadow issues. The Shadow is that part of our personality we refuse to own up to, so we often project it onto others. History holds many examples of how extreme behaviours result from Shadow issues ( the Holocaust), but why do these atorcities continue today (Ukraine-Russia conflicts, ISIL)?
=0D=0A=

At the core of these tragedies is the Shadow. What is the Shadow? How can we identify it? How can we learn to no longer "act out" the Shadow? What are the conditions for group Shadow behaviour? These questions and others will be explored at our Jungian lecture.
=0D=0A=

You will find us in Room 203, Tyee Building ~
=0D=0A=
