The Victoria Tea Festival Revival returns for a grassroots farm-to-cup experience and community learning, featuring a talk by tea farmer Kohei Takaki, flying in from Fukuoka Japan. Saturday, February 9th, tea enthusiasts will come together to drink different teas from around the world prepared at the Victoria Tea Festival Revival 2019.
=0D=0A=The event is presented by the International Tea Appreciation Society, and festival activities include a tea market with tastings and a tea symposium. ?The tea market will be inside Nootka Court under cover from adverse weather but outside for a farmer's market feel. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own teacup (BYOTc). However, they will also be able to purchase a mini-mason jar for tea tasting at the event.
=0D=0A=Teas at the tea market will be prepared by JagaSilk, O5 Tea, Gathering Place Trading, Unity Jun, and more. Many of the teas available at the Victoria Tea Festival Revival are sourced right from the farm of origin in Japan, China, India, South Africa and more, creating a true farm-to-cup experience.
=0D=0A=Festival goers will also be able to increase their knowledge about tea during the symposium from topics including Farming Tea in Japan: A Conversation by a Japanese Tea Farmer, Sourcing Honeybush in the Mountains of South Africa, Milling Maccha Green Tea in Victoria. Speakers will include Kohei Takaki, Lovena Harvey of the Gathering Place, Jared Nyberg of Jagasilk, Pedro Villalon and many more.
