LOCATION:First Metroplitan United Church :: 932 Balmoral Rd. Victoria,
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:
Just in time for spring, this concert of short works by two icons of the baroque era will get your toes tapping and your spirit dancing.
=0D=0A=

Our performance will take place exactly 11 years after Peter Butterfield and the VPC last presented Dixit Dominus, a work of youthful genius written by G.F. Handel in 1707, when he was just 22.
=0D=0A=

J.S. Bach's setting of the biblical canticle Magnificat is equally celebratory, with trumpet fanfares among the varied colours of the orchestra, which includes several baroque specialist players who make their home in Victoria.
=0D=0A=

The soloists bring youthful energy and a high level of vocal skill to the stage: sopranos Jennifer Turner and Isolde Welby, mezzo-soprano Cassidy Stahr, tenor Spencer VanDellen and bass Louis Dillon. As is common practice in baroque performance, the soloists are also singing in the choir sections.
=0D=0A=

According to Public Health Orders still in effect, proof of full vaccination and government-issued ID will be checked at the door. At this time, masks are required to be worn. Please check back for any updates just before the concert. Seating is General Admission. Doors open by 7 pm.
=0D=0A=
