Scandinavia has a long-standing jazz tradition, and one of their best emerging bands is Finland’s SUN Trio. The group is fronted by trumpet virtuoso Kalevi Louhivuori, who has performed with such luminaries as Randy Brecker and Dave Liebman. Longtime bandmate Olavi Louhivuori is a versatile and award-winning drummer who has performed around the world with such artists as Lee Konitz and Anthony Braxton. Rounding out the group is bassist Antti Lötjönen, equally fluent on electric and acoustic. With two much-praised CDs to their credit including the most recent, Dreams Are True, SUN Trio produces sparse and arresting jazz of an icy beauty. =0D=0A=
