LOCATION:Hermann's Jazz Club :: 753 View Street Victoria,
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:
The innovative and electrifying Toronto jazz drummer Ernesto Cervini has energy to burn, whether radiating it from behind his kit or working on a number of musical and educational projects. On the heels of his third album There recorded by his quartet live at the Cellar Jazz Club in Vancouver, BC, Cervini has added two more instruments to the fold to create a new sextet, Turboprop.
=0D=0A=

Cervini, who Hank Shteamer of Time Out New York called, "a tastefully buoyant drummer as well as a sharp composer and bandleader", conceived of Turboprop as blades of a propeller that work together in synergy, moving an aircraft powerfully through the sky. Cervini elaborates, "by combining the experience and artistry of these musicians, the music takes flight with a force and energy that only a sextet can bring.” Turboprop’s debut album Ernesto Cervini - Turboprop will be released February 2015 on ANZIC records out of New York City. The album consists of original pieces by Cervini as well as material from musicians such as Charlie Parker and Keith Jarrett.
=0D=0A=

The band features some of Canada’s best jazz musicians: Kelly Jefferson tenor saxophone, Adrian Farrugia piano, Dan Loomis bass, Tara Davidson alto saxophone, and William Carn trombone.
