Last winter's hot ticket of the season will be made even better with this evening of manouche featuring the scintilating vocals of Emily Braden. She's a Victoria native, through her time studying and performing with Louis Rose, Harry Manx, Daniel Lapp and Oliver Swain, or more recently her 2012 performance with the Victoria Symphony, but she's now the darling of the New York City jazz scene, since winning the prestigious title of 'Best of the Best' at the NYC JazzMobile Vocal Competition. We've all heard if you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere, and Braden has broken through from getting the hook at Amateur Night at the Apollo early on in her NYC tenure, to playing regular gigs at the Blue Note and Ella's, with recognition at the highest levels of the New York City Jazz scene.=0D=0A=

Also on the bill is Brishen; Victoria's newest Gypsy Jazz group featuring remarkable young guitarist Quinn Bachand along with Richard Moody, Reuben Weir and Joey Smith. National talent and recent Victoria Jazz Festival superstar Jaron Freeman-Fox will be joined by Local Djangologist Chris Sartisohn, while Marc Atkinson Trio veteran Brett Martens and his string band round out the bill with an acoustic stage.=0D=0A=

This installment of the Victoria Django Festival combines the best music with some delectable choices for your palette. All local sponsors; Hoyne Brewery and Unsworth Vineyards will provide the libations, and Pizza Prima Strata and The Whole Beast serve up Gourmet Pizza and Chacuterie. The full festival experience will include two levels of music, The chandelier lit upper hall is where the dance floor heats up, and in the lower hall attendees can enjoy Harlem to Paris players in an acoustic setting.=0D=0A=
