With decades of playing experience between them, Hardly Handsome covers a wide swath of the Bluegrass repertoire with stellar singing and searing instrumentals. Bill Humby’s life has always been about music, whether singing with Grandma around the piano, playing trumpet duets with Dad, or performing with his kids on a nationally-televised Family Band Battle. Craig Korth, with nearly 50 years experience as a touring musician, teacher, broadcaster, and luthier, brings a vast knowledge of Bluegrass to the band; A flash of Frailing, a modicum of Melodic and a smidgen of Scruggs-style guarantees that Lee Foote never plays anything on his banjo the same way twice. Graciously, his bandmates tether him to reality. And hailing from the backwoods of south-eastern Ontario, Mick Baker’s interest in traditional music began in high school, and Hardly Handsome is more than happy to have this relative youngster shredding on the mandolin and singing the sweet notes.
