The band, known as ‘Uncle Wiggly’s’ to fans, got their start at the University of Victoria’s sub pub in the late 70s. Independent recording led to an RCA contract and high-profile shows, with such acts as Joe Cocker, Paul Butterfield and Stevie Ray Vaughan, among others.=0D=0A=

“Uncle Wiggly’s blazed a trail for the rest of us,” said Rhymer. “They were leaders in Victoria’s independent music scene in the early 80s and their legacy carries on today in some of the great younger bands that are rising up through the ranks in Victoria’s blues scene.”=0D=0A=
