Two 'Talking Heads' plays are coming to Langham Court Theatre!
=0D=0A=Attitude Theatre and Theatre Carpe Diem are pleased to announce their upcoming production of two comic and touching one-act monologues by Alan Bennett! HER BIG CHANCE (starring Deirdre Tipping, directed by Wendy Gail) is a light-hearted rendition of one of Bennett's famous Talking Heads plays. It's the 1970's, and Leslie, a woman whose hobby is 'collecting people', is determined to make her mark as a film actress. She simply "must, must, MUST" get involved, right to the hilt! She's quite happy to share all of her experiences both in front of, and behind, the camera. A CHIP IN THE SUGAR (starring Malcolm Harvey and directed by Merry Hallsor), another Talking Heads play, is both poignant and funny. We meet Graham, who discovers his sheltered and orderly life with his mother is threatened when she meets up with “a bit of her past”. “Past”? Graham didn’t know his mother had a past! His usual response to the challenges this posed? …..”I didn’t say anything.”
