This Gabriola Island trio consists of very accomplished musicians; the trio’s banjo player Tina Jones’ new release Quickening has recently risen to #1 for three consecutive chart weeks at CHLY 101.7 FM radio. Celebrated Gabriola pianist Leah Hokanson has over 20 years experience as a performer, accompanist, choral conductor and vocalist and is the founder of Gabriola Island’s renowned Lulu Performing Arts. A recording artist with a recent release, cellist Allanah Dow has years of performance wisdom behind her and has explored improvisational approaches that stem from meditation. Dow speaks about the dance of spirit and playing the “ heartsong”. On learning to play music as a spiritual practice, Dow says, “Just be quiet, start with the stillness of breath, then (play) maybe one note only; coming from your heart and your spirit.”
=0D=0A=
