The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) is a musical structured into five short musicals parodying the style of five Broadway greats, each with the same classic melodramatic plot: "I can't pay the rent!":

Corn! is set in Kansas in August and lampoons the famous musicals of Rodgers and Hammerstein.

A Little Complex based upon the musicals of Stephen Sondheim is about neurotic New Yorkers.

Dear Abby’s madcap socialite parodies the work of Jerry Herman, especially Mame and Hello Dolly!

Aspects of Junita plays upon the work of Andrew Lloyd Webber and even includes a poke about the controversy when he was accused of “borrowing” tunes from Puccini.
Speakeasy reflects the work of Kander & Ebb, the talent’s behind Cabaret and Chicago.

The talented cast of 11 play over 40 roles and includes hilarious turns by Ladysmith Little Theatre favorites Mort Paul, Bill Johnston, Elizabeth Hermann, Ann McInulty-Gogo, Rob Bradford, Kim Rogers, Alan Watt, Sharron MacLeod and Brenda Clarke. We also welcome newcomers to the Ladysmith stage: Brandon Hadley and Mike Dietrich.  Accompanying the cast musically is Mary Jackson. The show has been co-directed by Alan Watt and Bill Johnston, all under the strong musical direction of Nikita Towe.

Although it’s all original music – the composers have done such a marvellous job of mimicking the greats that you’ll be saying “I’ve heard that song before”, tapping your toes and having a great time
