<p>Peace songs will be sung from 8.30 by Janette and Tristan with the formal program beginning at 9 pm with the reading of the Proclamation from the City of Nanaimo,</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Eleanor Sinclair playing the harp and Margaret Sutton on the shakuhashi flute.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Mayor Leonard Krog,</p>=0D=0A=
<p>MLA Sheila Malcolmson</p>=0D=0A=
<p>and MP Paul Manly will attend and say a few words.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>This will be a family event suitable for children and people of all ages.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Approximately 35 lanterns will be launched at dusk. There will be COVID protocols in place.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Please come and bring friends to this important and beautiful ceremony commemorating the first use of a nuclear bomb which devastated the city of Hiroshima in 1945 and affirming our need to work for peace.</p>
