The Huron Carole - A Musical, is just that, an enchanting musical re-enactment of the very first Huron Carole concert that took place in 1987. Alongside concert series founder Tom Jackson, guest artists in both the musical (Act 1) and special concert (Act 2) include Don Amero, Shannon Gaye, Beverley Mahood and One More Girl.
Jackson's philanthropic national projects now celebrate 27 years of fundraising history with over $200 million in cash/in-kind services for food banks, family agencies and disaster relief.
Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life are the presenting sponsors of The Huron Carole - A Musical. The Mustard Seed is the local beneficiary from ticket sales so all funds remain at the local level.
Jackson shares, "The Huron Carole - A Musical will be an unwrapping of the gift I received while living in a crawlspace in 1987. I carry it in my heart. It continues to motivate me to share the philosophy of 'the gift is in the giving'. The gift is life-changing, and in my case, life-saving."
The Mustard Seed has been essential in fighting hunger and restoring faith to a large portion of people living in poverty, as well as the working poor, in greater Victoria since 1975. The programs and services are 100 percent community funded and include Vancouver Island's largest food bank, counseling and outreach services, a daily drop-in center, a church, a clothing bank, a family center offering life-skills training programs and addictions recovery at Hope Farm Healing Centre. We serve over 7,000 clients per month, with more than 50 volunteers keeping things running on a daily basis.
