=0D=0A=Lloyd (clarinet, soprano sax, vocals) exudes the relaxed hospitality of the Prairies as he tells me he can remember the lyrics of every song he’s ever sung. He’s a storyteller extraordinaire, continuing the oral tradition. His career spans decades, including many clubs plus CBC radio and TV gigs.
=0D=0A=John Capon, (tuba, trombone, vocals) creator of The Gabriola Ensemble, is brilliantly comfortable with classical or jazz music. An educator, songwriter, and arranger, he has mentored many a young player.
=0D=0A=Victor Anthony, (guitar, harmonica, vocals) seasoned in Tennessee, is steeped in the tradition of blues and jazz, and he is, like his fellow Stompers, amazingly versatile. When I asked him to give me a quote about this group, he smiled and said, “The fun factor is ramped up.”
