The Boom Booms are coming back to Victoria to rock out at Upstairs Cabaret. Joining them for the evening is local folk favorite Dougal Bain with his band.=0D=0A=

The Boom Booms are a Canadian indie soul band formed in Vancouver, BC in 2008. The band is an independent act that has toured internationally influencing the music scene in countries like Brazil, Spain, Canada, the U.S. and more. The bands’ roots soul sound draws heavily from artists including Bill Withers and Damian Marley.=0D=0A=

The Boom Booms released their second album ¡Hot Rum! (2011), which earned them a spot in The Peak Performance Project. They won second place picking up a cash prize of $75,000, which enabled them to produce and release their travel documentary, Boom Boom Brazil. =0D=0A=

The band is currently recording a new album with Grammy Award-winning producer Chin Injeti, which is set to release in Summer 2014.=0D=0A=

The Path is a breakup album, to be sure, and came on the heels of some severe disillusionment. But don’t let the history fool you: McLean is a master of finding a light heart in dark times. A compliment to the quieter reflection of Kids in Love and violin voicings of Thunder Road are deceptively upbeat tracks like Hellbound Intention and the mariachi-flavoured Camino.=0D=0A=
