TELEMETRY: a unique, terrifically intense hybrid dance experience that mixes interactive sound and lighting with a physical language of swing, bebop jazz, and contemporary dance while showcasing Canadian tap virtuoso, Danny Nielsen. “The guy knows how to put on a show.” – The Georgia Straight In Telemetry, created byShay Kuebler, Radical Systems Art, he has imagined the body as an antenna and satellite for sound, energy and memory, a body that translates and transmits that information into visceral physicality and precise movement. His raw, acrobatic vocabulary animates an energetic dance fusion of jazz, swing, tap dance and house music.

In a dynamic dialogue with the lighting, the choreographer and six dancers, transform the stage into a playground where dance is reinvented and Telemetry is explained through the human body: the complete measuring, transmitting, and receiving apparatus for indicating, recording, or integrating at a distance, by electrical translating means, the value of a quantity. Shay has worked with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Decidedly Jazz Danceworks and in film.
=0D=0A=He trainedat an Alberta dance academy and Shito-Ryu Karate school and developed expertise in Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and Ballet. He continues to develop his artistic practice through intensive study in music, theatre, dance and martial arts in Brazil, Japan and China with the Shaolin monks
