George Millar affectionately known as Big G, the Musician's Friend was well loved by the music community on Vancouver Island and abroad. George passed on July 2020 but because of covid, friends and family couldn't have a memorial for the Big fellah until now. =0D=0A=A long time volunteer with the campus community radio station CHLY 101.7 fm, from it's beginning in 2001,
=0D=0A=Big G was CHLY's music director, built and maintained the CHLY music library and charts, He tirelessly represented the station out in the community, on campus, at music events, and festivals. Promoting the radio station on campus by putting on 11 concert series, featuring local artists at the VIU Theatre,
=0D=0A=His deep radio voice was always recognized when out in public. Musicians often would drop in with their Cd, fresh from the recording studio to have their new music debuted on air with George. the Irish Rover, David Gogo, Monty Beaumont and many others, knew the door was open.
