LOCATION:Artspring :: 100 Jackson Avenue Saltspring Island,
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:
In 1971, an eclectic group of young pioneers – Canadian hippie journalists, photographers, musicians, scientists, and American draft dodgers – set sail from Vancouver to Amchitka, Alaska in an attempt to stop Richard Nixon’s atomic bomb tests. This first protest, followed by whale and seal campaigns coupled with a canny use of media, captured the world’s imagination. The modern green movement was founded and Greenpeace was its name.

Based on the writings and journals of founder Robert Hunter, and using never before seen archive footage, How To Change The World is an intimate portrait of the group’s original members and of activism itself. They agreed that a handful of people could change the world – they just couldn’t always agree on how to do it.

http://www.saltspringfilmfestival.com/

Purchase tickets online or in person at the Artspring ticket center.
