DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:<p>In the event of rain the public event may be cancelled <br />The Royal Canadian Legion Branches in the Central Vancouver Island Zone are hosting the 55th Annual BC/Yukon Command Convention in Nanaimo, BC The convention is the first being held in Nanaimo in over 15 years, and the future direction and business of the Legion in BC and the Yukon will be addressed at this bi-annual convention. The Royal Canadian Legion/BC Yukon Command continues to be one of the most respected community service organizations in Canada, serving veterans, ex-service personnel, seniors, youth, and many aspects of community life. We cordially invite the community, to join in this rare opportunity to witness the opening with BC/Yukon Command parade of colours followed by A Wreath Laying Ceremony</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Participants in the parade will include the Pacific Gael Pipe Band, led by William Alderson, as well as members of the Nanaimo Cadet Corps.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>The event will be attended by a number of dignitaries and national representatives of the Legion who will be laying wreaths on behalf of our veterans and official layers of governments.</p>=0D=0A=

<p>The theme of this year&rsquo;s Convention is Rise Again and is a call for the members renew our commitment to our veterans and to once again reconnect and offer support through volunteering in the communities that we live in.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Our communities have maintained their support of each other throughout the last couple of years that we have not been able to gather. Now we can reunite with our friends and family to bring back some balance and rekindle the comradeship we have greatly missed. We encourage our community of Nanaimo to come and line the parade route as well as join us at the Wreath Laying Ceremony to show our support and local pride in hosting our visiting delegates and guests from all across BC/Yukon.</p>
