DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:<p>When novelist Charles Condomine arranges a s&eacute;ance with Madame Arcati, a local eccentric and medium, as part of research for an upcoming book, he unleashes forces he had not counted on, namely the ghost of his first wife Elvira, who is visible only to him. Charles eventually convinces his current wife, Ruth, of Elvira&rsquo;s presence and Ruth and Charles set about trying to get rid of the unwanted spirit. Meanwhile, Elvira plots to get rid of Ruth so she and Charles can be reunited.<br /><br />This play was a hit when it debuted in wartime London and has undergone numerous London and Broadway revivals.
